getting sick is a bitch. it’s so freaking expensive. i just spent a fortune on medical bills for my mom’s tests for goiter symptoms. thank god it’s just acid reflux. and for my grandpa’s flu meds. the antibiotics are soooo expensive they cleaned out my last pay envelope. and now i don’t have any money and i’m stressed out. i still have to wait till the end of the month for my next paycheck.
and then i just realized over the weekend that i won’t be able to get myself a labrador retriever. i’ve always wanted one and since i lost my dog last month, i thought i could persuade the people at home to get one. but seeing my grandpa’s condition last weekend made me realize that he might be able to take care of a lab puppy but he won’t eventually be able to handle it when the puppy catches up to its adult size. my grandpa walks and feeds our dogs when i’m at work. so there, no more labs. for now. sad.
by the way, my grandpa adores our one and a half year old mini-pinscher nikki. i told him once that i will sell nikki. he got mad and left mumbling something.

and to shake off the weekend stress, i went to my local pet shop and played with the puppies and dogs. the owner allows me to pet them since i’m already friends with him. there is this enormous 4 month old rottweiler last weekend but he’s so friendly and gentle. i want to take him home. nyaha. this kindda reminded me of that grey’s anatomy episode where george and meredith go to the nursery for their stress fix. going to the pet shop feels like that. dogs are therapeutic. i love dogs.

i got me a phone line from smart with a brand new lg ku380 phone. the phone looks like this:

it’s sleek and stylish. it’s user friendly, the controls are similar to that of nokia phones. a fully-charged battery lasts up to 3days or more depending on use. oh, it’s 3g. i haven’t tried video calling and modem applications though. it has a memory slot (users say it’s compatible with up to 2gig micro sd card) for pictures and mp3 addicts.
the camera is not very good though. it doesn’t work well in poor lighting conditions even with the night mode setting.
anyway, i won’t be using the phone, i will give it as a birthday gift to my sister who turned 14 yesterday. and having a plan/phone line is way way better than prepaid, so much more convenient and i hope less expensive in the long run. i should have done it ages ago.

dragonfly obviously. shot in front of the house. wikipedia says it’s a yellow-winged darter.
we used to have a lot of these when i was a kid. they were flying just overhead on the street. my playmates and i had a blast hitting them with fly swatters. during the times when we were lucky enough to catch big ones, we would tie a string on their tails. we turned the poor things to kites, made them fly while we run and chased them and whirled them in every direction.

i just finished watching one tree hill season five. it is different from the first tweeny seasons. the casts’ portrayal at least matured with the characters’ age. although there is still some high school drama, it was all in all a good season. plus, the ending left me wanting more. i even searched for the episode recap of the first episode of season 6. can’t wait for the next dvd to come out.
- i love jamie lucas scott. he is such a cute perky kid.
- i think bethany joy galleoti (haley) is also the better actress among all of them.
- lucas is annoying. why can’t he make up his mind? (i’m still rooting for him and peyton).
- i felt a little sorry for dan but he brought it upon himself anyway.
- i love the friendship between peyton and brooke and the relationship between skills and jamie.
after burning so many hours on the couch, watching it left me feeling vulnerable all of a sudden. the show almost always has that effect on me. it kind of makes you reevaluate your life. the characters are the same age as us (us meaning my circle of friends) and they seem to be facing the same struggles we do. the fact is, it made me jealous of the other characters’ life. not that i don’t like mine. i’m actually happy. it’s just that despite all the stability i have in my life now, i feel like there is something missing.

i was doing my routine email and webpages check this morning and i came across this message. it was simply disarming and spontaneous. it couldn’t have been written in a better way. and it’s a fact. i have brought myself to accept that from the beginning, from the very beginning. but i guess i was just really really surprised to read something like that in the the most sweetest of words.
that piece of information tipped my world a bit. i guess i was just caught off guard considering i already exorcised myself of my own personal demons. what amazed me was the way it was delivered and how ironic the circumstances were. just a few months ago, i said something similar and now you’re saying the same things. is it the wavelength or what? how crazy can the world get?
how can i not hate you? wasaaak! haha!

i was trying to go for rhythm with the glasses but i guess i failed. and the focus is off. nyahay. i think the blurred woman at the back though clearly portrays the inebriated state induced by alcohol. that state when we temporarily forget who we are and what we are supposed to do, and just enjoy the night with careless abandon and bask in the fleeting numbness of the moment.

a local capiz lantern shot at villa del mar resort in pagudpud, ilocos norte. i like the texture of the thatched roof background made of local nipa palm or commonly known as pawid in the local dialect.
these are the three most decent shots using manual mode with different settings. i forgot to write down the details though (will just include them next time). ;-)
